My Story: Building Dreams, Businesses, and a Better Future​

My journey began in the historic city of Harar, Ethiopia, where I grew up surrounded by a rich culture and deep heritage. These early experiences shaped my passion for design, innovation, and a commitment to creating spaces that inspire. My curiosity and drive led me to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering at Adama University, but my true calling lay in building homes and crafting exceptional spaces.

After graduation, I honed my expertise in Addis Ababa, working on large-scale construction projects in operations and design. My commitment to excellence soon caught the attention of a leading UAE company, which brought me to Dubai. There, I spent several transformative years in the construction and renovation industry, developing an acute attention to detail and a deep understanding of precision, quality, and client satisfaction—principles that remain at the core of my work today.

In 2008, I brought my experience and passion to Canada, driven by a commitment to create homes and lifestyle concepts that reflect both functionality and beauty. As a Master Builder certified Construction Expert, I’ve taken my dedication to craftsmanship and design to new heights. I own and operate two Alair Homes franchises, where we specialize in crafting bespoke, contemporary homes that seamlessly blend form and function, aesthetic appeal, and practical design.

My eye for design extends beyond homes. I am the proud owner of KH Cabinets, a top-tier cabinet manufacturing business known for its quality and attention to detail. My entrepreneurial spirit also connects back to Ethiopia with my brand, Legacy, which includes Legacy Housing—a construction company focused on building new homes and multiplex residences. We’re working on transforming the local market by manufacturing rebar and structural supplies domestically, significantly reducing costs and increasing accessibility.

Currently, I’m excited about a project aimed at boosting dairy production in Ethiopia, in partnership with the Canadian Farmers Association. This venture includes a specialized feeding system, advanced farm management, and a cutting-edge breeding system with artificial insemination.

My passion for creating experiences and shaping spaces extends into the world of coffee as well. I’m planning a unique partnership between Ethiopian coffee and a leading Canadian coffee franchise, bringing the rich flavors of Ethiopian tradition to Canadian consumers.

Every project I take on—be it a home, a lifestyle concept, or an industrial venture—is driven by a commitment to craftsmanship, design excellence, and a belief that spaces should not only look beautiful but also elevate lives. My mission is simple: to create spaces, communities, and experiences that stand the test of time, reflect true professionalism, and inspire a better way of living, both in Canada and Ethiopia, and beyond.
